Meet the Team

Clive
Practice Manager
Hi, I am Clive and I am the practice manager. I am lucky enough to have my own office at the practice, where I take my work very seriously. I am always busy helping to run the place, keeping an eye on the staff to ensure they are tending to my every whim, and that of our clients.
As most of you know I am deaf, so please feel free to direct any complaints you have about the practice to me and I will gladly sleep through them.

Sarah with chooks
Veterinary Surgeon
Hello my name is Sarah, I was born in Ontario, Canada and brought up in Llandudno. From an early age I knew I wanted to be a vet and consequently went to the University of Liverpool and graduated in 2004. I set up Mochdre Vets in 2017 and could not be prouder how it has grown. My main interests lie in geriatric medicine and pain management and find it really fulfilling that we are able to help our furry friends now more than ever. I have worked in the Llandudno area for the last 13 years and further a field as a locum before that and also in January 2012 I volunteered at Romanian Underdogs Rescue .In 2022 I was able to organise for the team to volunteer in Malawi and have strong links with the BSPCA charity over there
Aside from being a veterinary surgeon, I am also a member of British Veterinary and Sports Medicine Association (BVRSMA) and the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists (ABVA). I am also a qualified hydrotherapist and since an accident where I tore my own ligament and practiced what I preached am currently undertaking some physiotherapy cpd.
I now live with my husband Lee and my furry family changes with the years. I currently have three rescue cats Zippy, Loki and Grunt along with rescue dogs Darla and Dillon. We also have some rescue chickens from BHWT as well as some additional rehomee’s. You will often see their eggs available in reception for a small donation – all of which goes back to the BHWT
In updating my profile it is sad as when we opened the practice my models were Pedro and ‘Baked Potato’ Bert. Although I sadly don’t have them anymore they all feature on this web-site somewhere.
When I’m not working as a vet (ha ha!) I enjoy walking especially with dogs (see here for our doggie friendly recommendations and walks), travelling, cooking, growing my own veggies.

Lowri with Polar
Veterinary Surgeon
Hi, I’m Lowri and I graduated from Glasgow Vet school in 2002 and have worked in small animal practice ever since! My first ten years experience was spent in Birmingham working at the RSPCA, PDSA and Emergency hospitals which I enjoyed. I’ve worked in the North Wales area in recent years and have been at Mochdre Vets since early 2018. I enjoy soft tissue surgery, anaesthesia and transfusion medicine and have worked for the charity Pet Blood Bank. I’m planning to do some volunteer work with the charity StreetVet soon.
Out of work I’m kept busy with my teenage daughter and furry family which consists of Polar piglet, Princess and Little Kitty. I’m a fluent Welsh speaker so happy to chat in Welsh if you prefer!

Abigail with Pippa and Stanley
Veterinary Surgeon
Hi, I’m Abi! I graduated from the University of Liverpool Vet School in 2020 and have been working in small animal practice since then. I’m originally from Pentre Halkyn and joined the team in January 2026 after spending time with the practice as a long-term locum, so it already feels very much like home.
I really enjoy all aspects of small animal veterinary medicine, particularly building strong relationships with clients and helping people care for their pets. I find it especially rewarding being able to support owners through both routine care and more challenging situations, and doing my best to make a positive difference for both pets and their families.
Outside of work, I enjoy going to the gym and spending time with my animals. I have three horses — Pepper, Whilma and Randy — who keep me busy, along with my two spaniels, Pippa and Stanley. When I’m not at work or with the animals, I love being active and making the most of time outdoors.

Laura with Maddie
Veterinary Surgeon
Hi, I’m Laura! I graduated from the University of Liverpool Vet School in 2013 and have worked in small animal practice since then. My permanent role is based at North Clwyd Animal Rescue, but I have been a long term locum at Mochdre Vets since they opened and have worked with Sarah even before then.
I enjoy all aspects of small animal veterinary medicine and surgery and love meeting all the wonderful animals that we see. My favourite surgeries are entropion corrections, kitten spays and any small fiddly procedures. I also enjoy emergency surgeries and love it when we are able to make very unwell pets better so that they can go home to their families.
At home, I am owned by 6 cats and a bull terrier called Maddie. Last year Maddie and I dabbled in canicross 5k races, she was surprisingly good at it for a middle aged couch potato, winning the Myddle Muddle female 5k category!
My hobbies outside work are mainly sports based, with the current favourite being downhill mountain biking. I also love hiking, strength training and the odd bit of surfing and bouldering and this part of North Wales is a brilliant location for all of these. When I’m not busy doing sports, I love to read or do some gardening.

Charlotte with Ebbie
Veterinary Surgeon
Hello I’m Charlotte! I grew up near Canterbury in Kent, but in April 2025 my partner and I moved to Anglesey and fell in love with North Wales. I joined the Mochdre team in April 2025 as a long term locum. We didn’t have any dogs when we arrived in Wales, but since working at Mochdre we’ve now acquired a gorgeous rescue Collie, Ebbie, who’s crazy but we love her!
I qualified as a Vet in 2021, and enjoy all aspects of small animal veterinary work, but especially love any emergency and critical care cases.
In my free time I love to hike and take the dog on the beach or up the mountains, generally exploring the outdoors.

Martin with Theo and Arlo
Office Manager
Hello I’m Martin and I’m Clive’s assistant at Mochdre Vets. I gained an Economics degree from the University of Liverpool and worked for 8 years at a small Welsh manufacturing company before moving to Australia for a year. On my return to the UK I began work at a practice in the north west of England. I was there for 17 ½ years before joining the team here at Mochdre in May 2020.
I live in North Wales with my wife, our fox red Labradors Theo and Arlo and two cats Ebony and Robyn. In my time away from work I enjoy taking Theo for long walks on the beach, watching all kind of sport, listening to music and attending live concerts (in a vain attempt to cling on to my youth!).

Jess with Sam
Head RVN
Hi, I’m Jess! I’ve been nursing since 2017 and have worked with a variety of animals over the years, including small pets, farm animals and zoo animals! I am the Head Nurse here at Mochdre.
I help to run the weight clinics, helping pets with weight management to keep them happy and healthy. I am also a fluent Welsh speaker!
Outside of work, I enjoy keeping fit—whether it’s at the gym, running, playing football, or out on walks with my spaniel, Sam.

Robi with Jax
Deputy Head Nurse & Head of CT
Hi, I’m Robi! I began my veterinary nursing journey in 2016 in Windsor, Berkshire, and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) in May 2019. In January 2025, I joined the team at Mochdre after relocating from the south of England to the stunning landscapes of North Wales.
I’m passionate about every aspect of veterinary nursing, with a particular interest in client education. I believe that empowering pet owners with knowledge plays a vital role in ensuring patient welfare continues beyond the walls of the practice. Within the clinic, I run a nurse-led pain clinic for dogs, where I work closely with owners to develop tailored home care plans that help improve their pets’ comfort and quality of life. As Head of CT Scanning, I’m proud to be involved in using this advanced, non-invasive diagnostic tool to support accurate and timely diagnoses across a wide range of conditions.
When I’m not working, I love being outdoors, which is one of the reasons I chose to settle in this beautiful part of the country. I enjoy hiking in the mountains, rock climbing, cycling, and exploring new places with my fiancée and our Kelpie, Jax & her son Ru. On quieter days or when the weather doesn’t cooperate, you’ll find me baking or watching movies.

Beth with Carrot
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Hi, I’m Beth! I began my veterinary nursing journey in 2016 in Liverpool and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) in January 2020. In August 2025, I joined the team at Mochdre after relocating from Birmingham to the stunning landscapes of North Wales.
I am especially interested in anaesthesia and emergency care after working nights for four years covering clinics in the North West and the Midlands. I am excited to start holding dental clinics where I can provide support with dental and anaesthesia queries.
Outside of work I enjoy wild swimming, kayaking and hiking often accompanied by my two rescue dogs Kevin and Carrot.

Kate with Storm and Shadow
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Hi, I’m Kate, Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) who recently qualified in 2025, with a passion for animal care. I’m especially interested in consultations and surgical nursing. I enjoy educating pet owners during consultations, helping them make informed decisions about their pets’ health. In the surgical theatre, I assist with procedures, focusing on anesthesia and post-op care.
I’m also excited to be running nurse health check consults, where I can provide preventive care and support to pet owners in managing their pets’ long-term well-being. I’m looking forward to growing in these areas and making a positive impact on animal health and welfare.
Outside of work, I enjoy going for walks with my partner, and playing with my two mental Persian x Ragdoll kittens, Storm and Shadow.

Sarah with Gwen
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Hi, I’m Sarah, but most people know me as ‘Cookie’. I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2017. I recently moved back home to North Wales, having spent 7 years working in Hertfordshire. In this time I completed my Advanced Programme in the Veterinary Nursing of Reptiles & Amphibians. Following on from this, I have an interest in nursing exotics, especially chickens and reptiles.
When I’m not at work I enjoy getting out with my little Whippet, Gwen, to see everything North Wales has to offer. I also enjoy nothing more than good food and a holiday.

Amy with Chaos and Jax
Registered Veterinary Nurse & C-SQP
Hello, I’m Amy & I joined Mochdre Vets in 2020, beginning my journey in the veterinary industry as an Animal Care Assistant after more than 20 years in the fitness industry. This career change gave me the opportunity to train as a Student Veterinary Nurse, and in 2024 I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN). Proof that it’s never too late to follow your passion.
Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors, whether in the mountains or on the water, often accompanied by my two energetic Border Collies who are also big outdoor enthusiasts.
I am also a dedicated volunteer crew member with the local RNLI, so you’ll usually find me either in green scrubs or yellow wellies.

Rhona with Ted
RVN
Hello my name is Rhona, back in June I graduated from Wrexham Glyndwr University with a degree in veterinary nursing and began working here at Mochdre in July 2024.
I grew up on a farm in North Wales and have had a passion for animals since a very young age.
Previously I have worked as an account manager providing promotional staff and event solutions along with being a fully qualified beauty and holistic therapist.
In my personal time I like to stay active by attending gym classes, exploring the beautiful countryside and coast with my Labrador Ted and tending to my flock of sheep.

Ciara with Cookie
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Hi, I’m Ciara! I grew up in Ireland (Cork) and recently graduated from Wrexham University in 2025, and have been working in small animal practices around Chester/North Wales.
I’m particularly interested in advanced anaesthesia and all areas of nurse consults. I plan to complete a post-graduate certificate in advanced anaesthesia in the future.
Outside of work I enjoy travelling, exploring new hikes with my dog (Cookie), going to the gym or reading a good book!

Ellie with Bailey
Student Veterinary Nurse
Hey, I’m Ellie! I am currently a Student Veterinary Nurse and have been nursing for 3 years. I have worked with farm, equine and domesticated pets and have wanted to be a Vet Nurse since I was a little girl. I have a great passion for caring for animals and love consulting and working with inpatients. I now specialise in social visits as I have a passion for helping dogs feel more comfortable and overcome their fears at the vets and have a strong interest in canine behaviour.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, horse riding, keeping fit and travelling the world with my boyfriend!

Caroline with Tess
Head of Rehabilitation
Hi I’m Caroline and I have been working in the rehabilitation department since January 2021, and became head of rehab in September 2023. I am a Guild massage therapist, hydrotherapist and a CCA canine conditioning coach. My passion for rehabilitation originated from Tess, my border collie who has sadly passed since updating my profile. She sustained an injury whilst on a search and I witnessed how important rehabilitation is to soft tissue injuries, neurological/orthopedic conditions and ongoing arthritic issues. I was a member of the Search and rescue dog association (SARDA) for 15 years and I also recognise the importance of canine conditioning and fitness combined with muscular health to help reduce the risk of injury and correct muscular imbalances.
My story is a little different to some, I had a career change in 2017 from an academic researcher running my own projects to following my passion to work in canine rehabilitation. I embarked on Natalie Lenton’s Canine Massage Practitioner Programme where in 2019 I completed my skills to a clinical level and became part of the Canine Massage Guild and started my own business. I was lucky enough to join the Mochdre rehab team and develop my skills further with Level 3 hydrotherapy and Canine Conditioning. This fulfilled a lifetime ambition of being able to rehabilitate and support dogs with ongoing conditions as well as working to try and prevent such injuries.
In my spare time I’m mainly outdoors and enjoy nothing better than a quiet mountain stomp!!

Esme with Luna
Physio and Hydrotherapist
Hi, I’m Esme, I have relocated from Essex and found myself a job at Mochdre Vets in the rehabilitation department as a Veterinary Physiotherapist and canine hydrotherapist. I have loved dogs for as long as I can remember, I was never allowed one growing up but after volunteering at a local kennels, I finally won my parents over in 2014 and found myself a rescue labradoodle. She has taught me so much and I love training her in obedience, agility and scentwork.
When I discovered physiotherapy and rehabilitation for animals, I immediately knew that would be the career for me. After 4 years of studying, I graduated in 2022 with an Integrated Masters in Veterinary Physiotherapy and shortly after, completed both my level 3 and 4 certificates in Canine Hydrotherapy.
I am loving living in the North and look forward to discovering new hiking routes, going rock climbing and of course treating your lovely canine companions!

Sarah with Buddy and Boo
Veterinary Physiotherapist
Hi, I’m Sarah and I’m a Veterinary Physiotherapist in the rehab department here at Mochdre. Since graduating in 2024 I’ve been a self employed vet physio at home in the Wirral, so it will be a welcome change to have the support and encouragement of a team behind me.
At home I have 2 rabbits, who are up to 10 years old, who’s favourite things to do are shredding cardboard boxes and causing a mess for me to clear up. Though I don’t have a dog of my own currently, I love all animals and look forward to meeting some of your lovely pets!
In my free time I enjoy rock climbing, crafting and a walk on the beach when the weather allows.

Lucy with Star
Veterinary Physiotherapist
Hello, I’m Lucy, a Veterinary Physiotherapist who started working at Mochdre vets in the rehabilitation department two days a week in October 2023. I qualified as a Veterinary Physiotherapist in September 2022, and shortly after set up my own small business treating primarily canine and equine patients, along with some canine hydrotherapy in Cheshire. My little business is growing in leaps and bounds, however my sociable personality loves being part of a team, therefore my days at Mochdre vets bring a lot of variety into my working week! I absolutely love treating all kinds of cases and conditions, however I do have a large interest in post operative rehabilitation.
From a young age I have been a keen horse rider, you’ll always find me at the crack of dawn getting ready for a hack in Delamere forest or preparing for a schooling lesson. My current project is my 5 year old chestnut mare Star who I have slowly backed and currently producing. She has bagged us a few rosettes already!

Jo with Marley
Head Receptionist
Hi I’m Jo and I’ve been working on Reception since we opened in August 2017. I became Head Receptionist in September 2021 and love being part of such a friendly team. As we pride ourselves as a gold accredited cat friendly clinic, I previously completed my ISFM course as a cat friendly receptionist.
After leaving school (many years ago!!) I went on to do a 2 year Private Secretary Course. I then joined North Wales Police as a civilian, where I worked for 21 years. Putting my clerical skills and passion for animals makes this the perfect job for me.
One of the biggest highlights whilst I’ve been working at Mochdre Vets was our trip to Malawi in 2022 , where we volunteered for two weeks at a local animal charity. This was an amazing experience which I’ll never forget.
I live at home with my cheeky Jack Russell Marley. I adopted Marley in 2024 from a North Clwyd Animal Rescue and he is a massive part of the family and lots of fun.. I also have a 24 year old daughter Emily who has now flown the nest!!
In my spare time I enjoy walking Marley on the beach and enjoy cooking and socialising with friends and colleagues.

Sam with Murphy
Receptionist
Hi, I’m Sam and I’m a receptionist here at Mochdre Vets. I love being part of the team and getting to know all of our clients and their pets.
Since working at Mochdre Vets I have completed the ISFM course as a cat friendly receptionist and Dog Friendly Clinic certificate assessed by Dogs Trust and British Veterinary Behaviour Association.
I live with my husband Darren and three dogs (Boyo, Rebel and Jolly) and have a Welsh Section A pony called Pedro.
In my spare time, the animals keep me busy and entertained but I also have a 21 year old daughter Courtney who also shares my passion for dogs and horses. I also enjoy socialising with my friends and work colleagues.

Emma with Ronnie and Vinnie
Receptionist
Hi I’m Emma, I work here on reception, I was previously an animal care assistant/receptionist, so I am happy to join the team here with some experience.
When I am not at work I am a busy mum of two boys, who keep me on my toes! In my spare time I enjoy putting my headphones on and hiking in the beautiful mountains of Snowdonia, and walking my English Bull Terrier named Ronnie who is a whirlwind to say the least! I have a black cat called Vinny who is happy to laze on my bed all day. I am looking forward to my future here with the wonderful team at Mochdre Vets!

Sarah
Receptionist
Hello! My name is Sarah (not to be confused with the original Sarah). I’m 20 years old and I started working at the practice as a receptionist in July 2025. I’ve had a passion for animals, but particularly cats since I was a toddler. I am hoping to progress in the future to a veterinary nurse.
When I’m not working, I’ll typically be hanging out with my cat Meg, which is short for Megatron. I enjoy travelling with my boyfriend, as you can probably tell by the picture of me that he took in Disneyland, California. I am looking forward to finding my feet in this job and gaining more knowledge and experience.
