Estimates
Estimates may be provided verbally either at the time of booking or during the consultation. Written estimates are available on request.
All estimates given are only approximate and it is possible the final fee will be higher or lower than originally quoted as procedures and treatments do not always follow a conventional course. We will try to contact you on the contact numbers you have given us if we believe the treatment costs are going to exceed the estimate costs however if you are not contactable we will treat your pet as is necessary for the prevention of pain or suffering.
Fees
All fees for medicines, products and treatments are charged inclusive of the current VAT rate. The client will receive a receipt for every over the counter payment and a detailed invoice may be requested.
Payment
Accounts are due for settlement at the end of the consultation, the discharge of your pet or collection of goods. Payment is accepted by cash, debit / credit card, or BACS transfer.
Insurance
Mochdre Vets strongly supports the principle of insuring your animal against unexpected illness or accident. Please be aware that it is your responsibility to settle your account with ourselves and then reclaim the fees from your Insurance Company.
We will endeavour to assist with your insurance claim by completing any necessary insurance documents as long as you bring the documents with you.
Inability to Pay
If, for any reason, you are unable to settle your account as specified, we ask you to discuss the matter as soon as possible with a member of staff. Please note that instalments or part-payments of any account may only be sanctioned with the express permission of a Director.
We shall be entitled to suspend the provision of any further goods and/or services until you have paid any outstanding sums in full.
Overdue accounts, after due notice to you, may be referred to our Debt Collection Agency or the County Courts if satisfactory repayment arrangements have not been made with ourselves. This could incur you further costs whilst collecting the debt. Any cheque which you issue which is returned unpaid, any credit card payment not honoured and any cash tendered that is found to be counterfeit will result in your account being restored to the original sum together with any fees incurred in the process.
Prescriptions
You may obtain Prescription Only Medicines – Veterinary (POM-V’s) from the practice or request a prescription to obtain these from another veterinary surgeon or pharmacy. If you wish a prescription to obtain your medicines at another surgery or pharmacy you will be advised the current charge for the prescription at the time.
Your veterinary surgeon may only prescribe POM-V’s for animals under their care. The policy of this practice is to re-assess your animal at least every six months if they are on repeat prescriptions.
Unfortunately we are unable to accept the return of any drugs as such items can not be resold. If you wish for us to safely dispose of unrequired medication we can do so.
